Audio Visual Projects

I have an interest in several fields of engineering related to audio-visual media, including acoustics, repair/design of audio-visual equipment, and material science, as it relates to the design of audio-visual equipment.

Several of my projects touch on these interests, including:

  • A pair of AR-2ax Speakers, which I restored
  • An Onkyo Integra M-504 power amplifier, which I restored and modified
  • An Onkyo Integra P-304 pre-amplifier, which I’m in the process of restoring and modifying, targeting lower harmonic distortion
  • An Onkyo Integra EQ-35 graphic equalizer, which I intend to restore and modify, targeting much lower harmonic distortion
  • DIY Acoustic Baffles, which I designed and built for the Dallas Makerspace lecture hall
  • A 1973 Akai CVC-150 color video camera, which I hope to restore to full functionality

In the future, I intend to do the following projects:

  • A DIY monoblock amplifier, targeting ultra-high-end home systems (~1-3 years out)
  • A speaker system, currently focused on enclosure materials with properties that severely limit resonance (~2-4 years out)
